Dianne Randle
Dianne Randle is a textile artist based in Norwich, Norfolk, creating contemporary felted wall art and sculptural vessels. Her work explores natural forms and the tactile, expressive qualities of wool fibres, drawing inspiration from the natural world.
Dianne’s sculptural vessels are central to her practice. Their physical presence and hollow form evoke ocean-worn pebbles, rock pools, and coral forms carved by time. They suggest both strength and fragility, echoing the rhythms of the sea and the quiet beauty of erosion. She creates rich, layered compositions that capture a sense of the ocean.
Each piece is handmade using 100% merino wool – a natural, sustainable material. The felting process, with its inherent shrinkage, enhances the sculptural qualities of her work, resulting in distinctive, tactile surfaces and organic forms.
Dianne studied Textiles at Norwich University of the Arts and has spent the past 25 years teaching Art and Textiles in schools, colleges, and teacher training. Her practice reflects a deep understanding of fibre, form and surface, rooted in traditional techniques yet interpreted in a fresh and personal style.
