Abramović (b. 1946) is a groundbreaking Serbian performance artist, often regarded as 'The Grandmother of Performance Art', whose bold and visceral works have redefined the boundaries of contemporary art. She has had an extensive art career having created many performances, sculptures and artworks, most known for her boundary pushing performances including Rhythm 0 (1974), in which she invited the audience to use 72 objects on her body in any way they chose (including objects from a loaded gun to flowers) pushing the limits of trust, control, and vulnerability. Decades later, in another of her famous performances, The Artist Is Present (2010), she sat silently across from museum visitors for hours on end, creating powerful, wordless connections that left many in tears. Abramović’s work is a profound exploration of endurance, presence, and the human condition, making each performance an unforgettable, transformative experience.

The shifting perspective of the lenticular medium imbues the piece with a dynamic sense of movement, mirroring the ever-evolving challenges humanity faces.
