Sophie Duez is a multidisciplinary, surrealist portrait artist living and working in Norwich, Norfolk. She explores identity through her experience of living with double vision. Her pieces are detailed and intricate, often for foregrounding the grotesque and the unusual.
Having pursued her love of graphite drawing, etching and mono-printing during her degree in Falmouth, Sophie also discovered Mezzotint printing, a meticulous method of creating. Now she translates all of this into her oil paintings which draw on techniques of the Dutch Golden age painters.
