Sam Hennig
Sam Hennig is a painter driven by a direct and instinctive connection to the act of painting with its texture, colour, and evolving process. Based in Sussex, Forest Row, he is a graduate of the University of East Anglia.
His work draws attention to the small, often overlooked moments of everyday life, finding meaning in their simplicity. Rather than grand narratives, Hennig focuses on subtle details and quiet encounters, where much of human experience unfolds. His paintings move between light and dark, balancing tenderness with unease, and suggesting that both are essential.
For Hennig, painting is not just about the finished image, but about the act itself, an ongoing exploration of attention, emotion, and understanding.
In 2026, Sam exhibited in the gallery alongside Daniel Franklin for their duo show Sublimes Anecdotes.
